Don't Give Up On Your Goals

A couple of years ago I did several posts about planning and setting goals, because I believe it is important to have long term goals to help guide you in your life and business. I also believe that when you have small workable goals it can be easier to reach your long term goals.

When you have one of those days or weeks where nothing is going right and you may want to give up on our goals, remember every month, every week, every day, even every hour, you can start fresh.

Everyday I get up I go to the gym and I try to eat good healthy meals, but on some days don't do as well with my goal to eat healthy. The best part I can get up the next day and start over, and over time I know I will meet my goal.

If things are not going as planned one day, then the next day start over. Having a bad hour, try again the next hour. Their is no reason to give up on your dreams and goals, because  every day is a new day.

Do you find it easy to start over?

Cool Facts about Your Dreams

I remembers my dreams almost every night. With so many images in my head I decided years ago that I wanted to know what they all mean.

So about 20 years ago I went out and bought the best dream book I could find, and I have been interpreting my dreams and my friends dreams, ever since.

It is always fascinating to me how the images I see when I am dreaming really do mean something in my everyday life.

Check out these interesting facts about dreams:

Abstract Ocean Photography by CTCostalPhothography
You forget 90% of your dreams - with in 5 minutes of waking up you forget 50% and after 10 minutes 90%.

Everybody dreams - if you don't think that you dream you are just forgetting them upon waking.

In our dreams we only see faces we already know - We see hundreds of thousand of faces in our life so we have a endless supply for our brain to use in our dreams.

Not everybody dreams in color - about 12% of sighted people dream exclusively in black and white, and the rest in color. Prior to the 1950's most people dreamed in black and white, but the introduction of color television changed that.

Dreams are symbolic - dream speak is a deeply symbolic language. Italic

Emotions - the most common emotions in dreams is anxiety. Negative emotions are more common then positive ones.

You can have 4 - 7 dreams a night - on average you can dream from 1 - 2 hours every night.

Dream incorporation - our mind takes images we see throughout the day and incorporates them into our dreams. This happens to me all the time, that why I never watch a scary movie or TV show before I go to sleep.

Men and women dream differently - men tend to have more men in their dreams and women dream with equal amounts of men and women. Men tend to have more aggressive emotions when they dream.

Precognitive dreams - 18% - 38% of the population has had a precognitive dream, while 70% have experienced déjà vu.

You can read the complete list at BoredPanda.com.

Do you remember your dreams?

Do You have a Back Up Plan?

Journals by PrintStichAndPaste
We all want everything to be perfect, but as we know that's not always the case.

It only takes a few minutes to put a simple plan in place so your business is covered if something happens.

To get your back up plan started, start by making sure someone knows your passwords and can access your online accounts.

I recently read in the Etsy forums about someone who had paid for an item and waited almost 6 weeks with no contact from the shop, and when they checked the shop again it had disappeared. They don't know what happened or if or how they were going to get there money back.

If something happens in your life and you are unable to tend to your online business it is important that your customers don't feel like you abandoned them.

When you are ready to come back and run your business again, you want your customers to still do business with you.

A few other things to consider creating a back up plan for:

• If your computer crashes

• Something happens with your home or car

• If you or someone in your family were sick for several days or weeks

Making a plan now and having everything in place, will give your peace of mind.

Do you have a back up plan in place for your business?

5 Ways to Keep Working Even When You Are Not in the Mood

It's the time of year when you want to spend more time outside and less time on your business. I know this first hand, it has been challenging for me this Summer, to stay on top of everything.

Here are five ideas to help you keep working even when you don't feel like it.

Focus on your passion - If your spending your time doing things you don't enjoy, it's time to come up with some creative ways to inject a little creativity in your business projects.

Work with people you love - Invite family members or kids to your work space and let them create along with you.

Find ways to bring joy to your work - Redecorate your work space, walk around barefoot, or listen to your favorite music. Incorporate things you love into your space and your day.

Invest in yourself and your plan - Even on a tight budget, spend on things that will help grow your business. Invest in e-books, online classes, research new ideas in books from your library, or magazines

Show yourself some love - Don't forget to take breaks, have some play time, and celebrate your successes.

Working does not have to be all work and no play.  Find simple ways to enjoy your work time!

How do you stay motivated to work when your not in the mood?
